Studio monami is a design studio by Yuka Masuko ( マスコユカ ), launched in Germany. It's a place for the people who love art and creativity to share and advance the comicality and beauty of the living world.
studio monamiは、マスコユカによるドイツ発のデザインスタジオです。アートやクリエイティビティを愛する人々が、今生きる世界のコミカルさや美しさを共有し、発展させていくための空間です。

Studio Monami is a place where Yuka Masuko present her unique experiments and interact with people who are willing to do experiment with her and support her.
A first experiment is to present her work as a product, and second to create the studio where she can talk with people who love art and creativity and share the source of their imaginarion with each other in a multi-lingual environment, where it is OK to speak any language :)
このstudio monamiは、マスコユカがやりたいと思った実験を発表したり、実験を共にやってくれる人やサポートしてくれる仲間たちとの交流の場です。
作品をプロダクトとして発表する試みのほか、どの言語を話しても意味を伝えられるならばOKなマルチリンガルな環境で、アートやクリエイティブなことが大好きな人たちと語り合い、お互いのイマジネーション源を発掘したり、シェアし合えるような場所を作りました。
Monami came from two meaning.
The first, Monami was the salon in Ginza (Tokyo) where the poet/novelist Kanoko Okamoto and her husband, the comic artist Ippei Okamoto, first met the writer Yasunari Kawabata. Since then, Monami became the cultural salon for many avant-garde artists and developed their work and inspiration.
The second, Monami, takes its name from the French word «mon ami», meaning "friend".
monamiには二つの意味があります。
一つは、歌人・小説家の岡本かの子とその夫で漫画家の岡本一平が、文筆家川端康成と初めて出会った銀座のサロン「モナミ」。その後も「モナミ」は多くの前衛芸術家の文化サロンとなり、彼らの作品やインスピレーションを発展させてきました。
二つめののmonamiは、フランス語で「友だち」を意味する「mon ami」からきています。
